JACK JARVIS WINTER DIARY: CHRISTMAS AT THE BEACH, NEW YEAR AND T20 WORLD CUP

Scotland international Jack Jarvis is spending the winter in Brisbane, Australia, standing his cricket minutiae with Redlands Tigers.

The 20-year-old all-rounder will be detailing his experiences lanugo under throughout the winter on cricketscotland.com:

It was good to be worldly-wise to spend the festive period with my mum and my auntie, they were here until the 28th so I got to spend Christmas with them, lanugo at my mum’s friends place with them and their dog Rory, which was nice.

It was a bit variegated heading to the waterfront on Christmas morning surpassing having our lunch, but then in the evening there was a massive storm, which was pretty tomfool when you’re sat inside, but I imagine not very fun if you’re unprotected out in it!

We did a lot of the touristy things whilst my mum and auntie were in town, we travelled virtually quite a bit and saw some of the beaches, some of the waterfalls, and went into the municipality virtually the markets.

Over New Year I went lanugo to Melbourne and stayed with Tom Foulds who was the Grange tutorage last year and has now moved out to Australia, so it was nice to reservation up with him.

Melbourne’s a very variegated municipality to Brisbane, we went to a Big Bash game at the MCG which was cool, and I ended up doing some training with Tom as well whilst I was lanugo in Melbourne, so nothing really changes there!

The Big Bash get the family side of it spot on, as a product it really seems to be a unconfined event for families to throne lanugo to, and we’ve enjoyed it with Redlands as well, there’s been a really good atmosphere.

Jimmy Peirson, Sam Heazlett and James Bazley have all been in the Big Bash from Redlands, so it’s been good to see those guys involved; James in particular has been involved quite a lot with the Adelaide Strikers.

We got when into our cricket this weekend playing over the Saturday and Sunday versus South Brisbane, we had a good win and I took four wickets so that was really pleasing.

It was a bit increasingly normal to play the two days back-to-back, it’s variegated to what we’ve been doing for the past three months, and it was nice to prepare knowing that I will be bowling this week, increasingly similarly to how it would be when home.

This week we start versus Toombul at home, and that’s when to how it was surpassing Christmas, playing over two weekends.

George Garrett, who plays for Kent, has joined us now, and he played out here last year. He seems a really nice guy, and I headed lanugo to the waterfront this week to spend some time with him. He’s a really good player as well, he bowled nicely this weekend and hopefully he’ll help push us towards the top four which is our aim.

The yank for the World Cup is really heady when you see who we get to go up against, these are the teams you watch when you’re growing up.

I was there at Grange in 2018 when we write-up England, and the opportunity to be involved in those games really motivates you to want to be involved this time virtually and hopefully we can do something pretty special.
